Carolyn Ecker started Developmental Occupational Therapy in 2003. It has since grown from a small practice with just Carolyn to providing services across the Sacramento Area.

Carolyn Ecker MOT OTR/L (Business Owner)
Carolyn graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA with a Bachelor in Biology. She then earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, CA. Since graduating in 1997, Carolyn has had experience in multiple settings including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, schools and home-based services. Her primary area of practice has been pediatrics for the last 16 years.
Catherine Cooper MOT OTR/L
Catherine graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA with a Bachelor in Kinesiology and a minor in Child Development. She then received her Master of Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA. Catherine has experience working with adults and children, but her passion is in working with children and their families in their natural environments.
Lisa Smith COTA/L
Lisa began her career as an educator, with a Bachelor in Elementary Education from Concordia University, Nebraska, and a Masters in Special Education from CSU Sacramento. After 15 years as a classroom teacher, she returned to school and completed the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Sacramento City College. Since then she has enjoyed providing occupational therapy to children in school-based settings.
Gregory Leong MOT OTR/L
Gregory graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Occupational Therapy at San Jose State University, CA. Since graduating, Gregory has spent time raising his 3 children and working with children from ages 1 1/2 – 16. After having children of his own, Gregory’s passion grew in working with the younger aged children.
Sarah Wilhite OTD OTR/L
Sarah graduated from U.C. Davis with a B.S. in Evolution, Ecology, and Biodiversity and a B.A. in French. She then earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Pacific University of Oregon. Sarah has experience working with children in a variety of settings and also enjoys practicing occupational therapy with adults in hospitals and inpatient rehabilitation centers.
